Today I’m leaving the office. This has been happening far too frequently. It wasn’t all that long ago that I was writing one of those farewell emails. Now I’m about to start a new one, feeling like it just as little, harbouring the same mixed feelings of happiness and profound sadness, of expectation for what’s to be and anguish for what’ll never come to past.
I’m leaving, saying goodbye and, this time around, it’s like meeting an old friend for the first time, but in reverse. I’m saying goodbye to a new one. And when we stop talking we’ll leave the conversation halfway through."
Mais uma vez obrigada M. Adorei conhecer-te. Há muito tempo que não fazia um novo Amigo. Penso que te posso chamar assim, uma vez que é assim que te considero. Tenho pena que vás e ao mesmo tempo estou muito feliz por embarcares em mais uma aventura.
Tenho a certeza que esta não é uma despedida, até porque não és bom em despedidas, certo?!
Quero apenas que saibas que estás no meu coração e que te desejo tudo de bom, assim como desejo aos meus grandes e verdadeiros amigos, com quem partilho a vida há anos. Tenho a certeza que serás um deles.
